Academy starlets support Claire House
Four of Liverpool's most promising Academy starlets made it a very special day to remember for two youngsters at Claire House Children's Hospice when they paid a visit to the complex.
Ryan McLaughlin, Samed Yesil, Sheyi Ojo and Pedro Chirivella teamed up with Kieran and Arron as they took part in a FIFA 15 tournament.
This is part of the continued partnership between the club and Claire House Children's Hospice, with players regularly visiting the young people currently staying at the hospice in Wirral.
Claire House was delighted to receive a special donation of four brand new Xbox Ones, as well as copies of FIFA 15 from the players, which were donated by EA SPORTS, the club's official football video gaming partner.
Reflecting on the visit, Northern Ireland international McLaughlin said: "As a club, we work closely with Claire House Hospice and it's great to take some time out and come down to visit the kids and teenagers that are currently staying here.
"Today's visit has been made extra special by having the opportunity to donate the Xbox Ones and games to the kids, who I'm sure will make full use of them - we've had great fun playing against the guys here today."
Clair Bedford, relationships manager at Claire House Hospice, said: "Claire House works closely with LFC and we've had the Academy lads in on various occasions to meet the children and families, and it really is a special treat for everyone.
"The players have even helped out at number of our charity stores in the past, getting stuck in with our other volunteers serving customers and sorting through stock.
"Everyone at the hospice was delighted by the donation of the consoles and games. Many of the young people who we care for at Claire House have severe mobility issues and playing games like FIFA 15 is the only way for them to still enjoy playing their favourite sports.
"It was brilliant to have the lads from LFC come and enjoy a game with Kieran and Arron and I think they both gave them a run for their money!"
The local community is encouraged to help support Claire House Children's Hospice and can do so by donating money or belongings directly to the charity or by volunteering. For more information, click here.
