Robbie Fowler admits he is eager to give Liverpool's ardent Singapore fan base something to savour as a team of Anfield legends gear up for a friendly against a local XI on Saturday.

A squad of former Kop idols have arrived in the Far East ahead of a fixture with the Singapore Masters side this weekend - a game you can watch live and exclusively on LFCTV HD from 10am GMT.

The local interest in the contest is huge, and on Wednesday, Fowler explained why that support can help spur on the ex-Reds at the Jalan Besar Stadium.

"The support for Liverpool in Singapore is fantastic, so it's always good to come here," said our former No.9.

"It doesn't surprise me how well-supported we are here. There are some fantastic players that will be on show - and we've travelled all over the world as a Liverpool package, and everywhere we go we get so much support.

"The passion and the drive from the supporters helps us through the games, so we're thankful for them and hopefully they're thankful to see us."

Fowler is one of a considerable number of fan favourites to have made the trip to Singapore.

Alongside him will be the likes of Ian Rush, operating in a player-coach capacity, Patrik Berger, Vladimir Smicer, Emile Heskey, Dietmar Hamann and Jerzy Dudek.

Steve McManaman is also part of the squad and he too revealed why he's relishing the opportunity.

"It's wonderful to see the support here," he said. "The Premier League as a whole is huge in the Far East region, so whether we're in Singapore or Thailand, Indonesia or Malaysia, we always get wonderful support.

"It's great to be here, it's great to see everybody, and hopefully it'll be a wonderful occasion over the next few days - particularly on Saturday at the game.

"It's going to be an enjoyable few days and it's great to see everybody again. No doubt we'll spend some time sitting down and reminiscing about the good old days, but we're really looking forward to the game."

You can watch every kick of the LFC Masters' clash with their Singapore counterparts on LFCTV HD from 10am on Saturday morning.

The game gets underway at 11am, but you can enjoy an hour of build-up that will include exclusive reports, interviews and insight from the Reds' camp in the Far East.
