The Reds return to Anfield for the first time in three weeks and there are positive signs that Brendan Rodgers' side can chalk up a win in the 3pm GMT kick-off.
Rickie Lambert has hit the ground running since being called into first-team action, scoring goals against Crystal Palace last weekend and at Ludogorets Razgrad in midweek.
Stoke are without a win in their last 29 visits to Liverpool - with four draws and 25 defeats - and they head to Anfield on the back of a dispiriting reversal at home to resurgent Burnley.
Of course, Liverpool suffered their own defeat at Palace, but home games are a different matter and Rodgers' team should be able to clamber above Saturday's opposition and into the top half of the Premier League.

The main threat, however, looks to be Jonathan Walters, who is Stoke's top scorer and has registered four in his last six against Liverpool.
But in-form Lambert looks the one to be with in the goalscorer markets - the England striker is 6/4 to find the back of the net and 9/2 to be the first name on the scoresheet.
Captain Steven Gerrard played further up the field than usual in the midweek draw at Ludogorets and might be a value bet to open the scoring at 7/1 if he is given licence to attack again.
