Simon Mignolet insists it's vital Liverpool continue to look forward and maintain their winning form as they prepare to embark on a tough month of fixtures in three different competitions.

Victories over Stoke City and Leicester City have seen fortunes take a turn for the better for Brendan Rodgers' charges after four consecutive defeats to Newcastle United, Chelsea, Real Madrid and Crystal Palace.

However, against Ludogorets Razgrad, the Reds halted their disappointing run of form before clinching victory thanks to Glen Johnson's late winner against Stoke at Anfield.

The team went on to record a second successive triumph at the King Power Stadium on Tuesday - and while confidence in the camp is high, Mignolet insists the team cannot let standards slip again.

"Everybody's pleased with the results from our last two games so we have to build on that and make sure we keep doing that," Mignolet told Liverpoolfc.com in an exclusive chat at Melwood.

"We've got another couple of home games coming up so hopefully we can do the same as we have done in the last two games.

"The fact we have only conceded one goal [in two league matches] makes it easier to win games and we will have to keep doing that to progress in the league and do our best. Everybody is pleased with how things are going but we are working hard every day to progress even further.

"We know there's still work to do and we are doing that on a daily basis. We have got two important games coming up and we want to do well again, which is the most important thing.

"There's no point in thinking back too much on what has been, it's about the next game and that happens to be Sunderland at the weekend and then Basel on Tuesday, so hopefully we can play two good games and get the results we want."

Questioned as to whether anything has altered from a defensive perspective in recent games, the stopper insisted the upturn in form is a result of sheer graft out on the Melwood training pitches.

"We tried to work hard in training on a few things, everybody wants to defend together as a team, everybody wants to work hard to keep clean sheets and win games," said Mignolet.

"Therefore the last few games have been better but there's no point looking back. It's important we do those same things in the next game, which is the most important one.

"Momentum and confidence always helps you and, as individual players, performances will only get better by winning more games and scoring goals."

Liverpool's recent revival in fortunes has seen Lucas Leiva and Kolo Toure play prominent roles, with the duo both returning for the game against Ludogorets in Sofia and maintaining their positions in the starting line-up.

"They are both very experienced players who work their socks off every day in training if they are playing or not," said Mignolet. "So they are very professional and it's always pleasing to see when they come into the team that they are ready to do a job and you can always count on them to do that.

"Kolo tries to motivate the lads before the game and during the match as well. He's got good experience and can help settle a few of the lads down while he is playing.

"Everybody wants to do well and climb the table and we are always raring to go. We want to do well, we've got a group of honest players who always give 100 per cent not only in games but also in training. Everyone works really hard to stay fit and be on top of their game and that will only help us to progress."
