Liverpool face AFC Wimbledon in the FA Cup third round tonight at Kingsmeadow - and ahead of the tie, club statto Ged Rea brings you a selection of interesting facts and figures relating to the match.

The two sides have never met before, though Liverpool did play their predecessors Wimbledon in the 1988 FA Cup final, with the Londoners winning 1-0.

The Reds are seven times winners of this competition, last lifting the trophy in 2006 by beating West Ham United on penalties at Cardiff's Millennium Stadium.

Liverpool won a fifth round tie at Selhurst Park in 1995 after a replay, with goals from John Barnes and Ian Rush. Current AFC Wimbledon boss Neal Ardley (below) was in the beaten side that night.

The last time the Reds lost to a team at least three divisions below them in the FA Cup was in 1959 when non-league Worcester City inflicted a 2-1 defeat.

This is the fourth successive season the Reds have met a team from outside of the top-flight in the third round of the FA Cup.

Liverpool need three goals to record 700 in the FA Cup, while they have conceded four short of 400.

This is the sixth time in the last eight seasons that Liverpool have been drawn away in the third round and the 10th time in the last 13.

Liverpool have not won an FA Cup encounter in London as the away team since beating Wimbledon in 1995.

The Reds have lost one of their last 11 games and are two goals short of recording 250 under Brendan Rodgers in all competitions.

AFC Wimbledon was set up in 2002 and entered the Football League in 2011 via the Combined Counties League, Ryman League, Conference South and Conference. They are now in their fourth season in the league with a best finish of 16th in 2011-12. They finished 20th last season.

The Dons have reached this stage of the FA Cup for the first time since their reincarnation after having played in the second round in three of the last four seasons.

To earn the right to play Liverpool this evening they overcame teams from their division. They defeated York in a first round replay in November after a 1-1 draw away from home.

Andy Frampton earned his team a second chance with an equaliser and it was Jack Smith and Matt Tubbs, with two, who settled the tie after again coming from behind to beat Wycombe 1-0 in the second round.

This is their first game against top-flight opposition since their formation 12 years ago.

Manager Ardley played over 200 Premier League games for Wimbledon. He appeared against Liverpool 14 times while at Wimbledon winning four and losing three. He also lost twice with Watford.

Striker Matt Tubbs scored in seven of the Dons first 10 games of this season. He has found the net in five of the last eight games. The Dons have won four of the last five games in league and cup.
