Liverpool defender Kolo Toure featured for 42 minutes as Ivory Coast were beaten 2-0 in a friendly against Sweden on Thursday evening.

The centre-back and his compatriots are currently in preparation for the Africa Cup of Nations, which kicks off this weekend in Equatorial Guinea.

Toure was named in Herve Renard's starting XI for today's contest in Abu Dhabi but was withdrawn shortly before the interval, with the score goalless.

Johan Martensson and Marcus Rohden then found the target for the European outfit in the second half to claim a result over the African heavyweights.

Ivory Coast begin their quest for Cup of Nations success by facing Guinea next Tuesday, ahead of ties with Mali and Cameroon in Group D.
