LFC Ladies visit Alder Hey hospital
Liverpool Ladies took time out of their preparations for the upcoming Women's Super League campaign to visit Alder Hey Children's Hospital on Wednesday afternoon.
Matt Beard, the team and the club mascot, Mighty Red, visited the hospital with goodie bags as well as handing out some signed memorabilia for the children.
The reigning WSL champions split into four groups, visiting a number of wards in the hospital, chatting to patients and their families, while posing for photos and signing autographs.
Reds manager Beard said: "It is a real privilege to be able to visit Alder Hey and meet such inspirational people. To be able to give something back to the local community is really important and today's visit was definitely inspiring for both myself and the players.
"I hope that we managed to bring some positivity to the children and their families in what are extremely difficult circumstances."
Gill Kennedy, from Alder Hey, added: "It was lovely to welcome Liverpool Ladies to Alder Hey today. The players and manager were fantastic with the children and interacted really well with our patients and their families.
"On behalf of Alder Hey I would like to thank Matt Beard and all the players of Liverpool Ladies for visiting the hospital and bringing some much-needed happiness to the patients."
