It was a case of déjà vu for Kolo Toure as the Liverpool defender played the entire 90 minutes of a 1-1 draw for Ivory Coast at the Africa Cup of Nations on Saturday evening.

The 33-year-old was involved in his country's opening match of the tournament four days ago, when they recorded the same scoreline against Guinea after a late equaliser.

Their second Group D tie brought opposition in the form of Mali, who took an early lead in Malabo when Bakary Sako pounced with just seven minutes on the clock.

Toure and co seemed to be heading for a damaging reversal until, on 87 minutes, Max Gradel produced a crucial leveller to rescue a point from the contest.

The Ivorians therefore remain in contention to reach the knockout stages of the competition, which will be the Reds' No.4's final assignment in international football.

Next up in their campaign is a meeting with Cameroon next Wednesday that will decide whether Toure's dream of lifting the trophy next month is maintained.
