Harry Wilson was on the mark as Liverpool U18s lost 3-2 away at Manchester City on Saturday morning.

The home side made a blistering start to the game when they went in front after just two minutes and then raced into a 3-0 lead - Swedish striker Zackarias Faour fired a hat-trick.

Wade Maxwell pulled a goal back for the Reds and Wilson made it 3-2 but, despite a superb second-half display from Neil Critchley's side, City held on for their win.

Reflecting on the game, Critchley told Liverpoolfc.com: "I wasn't happy with some of the goals we conceded but overall we played very well, especially in the second half.

"We responded really well and put a lot of effort into it and were very unfortunate not to get the equaliser."

U18s team: Fulton, Whelan, Hart, Brewitt, Lewis, Travis (Phillips 65), Alexander, Maxwell (Nicholas 75), Ejaria, Marsh, Wilson.
