Kolo Toure's Africa Cup of Nations quest continues after Ivory Coast defeated Algeria 3-1 on Sunday evening to progress to the competition's semi-finals.

The Liverpool defender is participating in his last international tournament before retiring from duty with his country after more than a century of caps.

He was involved in the entirety of tonight's last eight contest in Malabo, having helped a team among the favourites to lift the trophy to top Group D.

Wilfried Bony opened the scoring for the Ivorians midway through the first half, though they were pegged back six minutes after the break by El-Arbi Hilal Soudani.

But Toure and co were not to be denied - Bony added the finishing touch once again with 68 minutes on the clock and Gervinho grabbed a third in the closing seconds to send Ivory Coast through.

Herve Renard's side will now tackle Congo DR in the first semi-final next Wednesday, following the latter's 4-2 victory over Congo yesterday.
