Brendan Rodgers is anticipating a quiet conclusion to the January transfer window for Liverpool.

The Reds have confirmed outgoing loan deals for two of their Academy starlets in Sheyi Ojo and Lloyd Jones so far on deadline day, but the manager isn't expecting much more transfer activity.

Rodgers told reporters at Melwood: "We'll be very quiet. I said at the beginning of the window, we were looking to keep all the players here, so it'll be a quiet window for us.

"With the group of players we have - and obviously the market dictates it as well - I am happy with how the team and the squad is developing and between now and the end of the season we'll look to continue with that improvement.

"We would want to keep all the players here."

Liverpool's only piece of incoming transfer business in January was the recall of Jordon Ibe from his loan stint with Championship club Derby County.

The 19-year-old has made two substitute appearances since returning, and Rodgers insists he's always eager to look from within to see if any youngsters can make a contribution.

"It depends on the moment you're in as a team - last year, we didn't do any business either," continued the manager. "Unless there is something that is there that you believe can really add to your squad of players.

"Certainly, from my perspective, I don't like to stockpile players. I'd rather look at our young players in the Academy and see if we can bring them through.

"That was the case this window with young Jordon Ibe, who has been excellent away at Derby. We needed another player to come into the squad in that area, so rather than looking to bring in a more senior player, we've got young players that were developing here very well. Jordon has come in and looked fantastic since he's been back at the club.

"That's the first thought - look from within. Of course, you always have to look for that star quality and if it's not available, you work with what you've got."
