To mark the launch of a fortnight's activity between Liverpool FC and Standard Chartered to raise awareness of the 'Seeing is Believing' initiative, this special infographic tells the story of the important work achieved so far.

Backed by the Reds' main sponsor for more than a decade, the global charitable campaign aims to tackle avoidable blindness and positively change the lives of children and adults around the world.

The 'Seeing is Believing' project has raised more than $75million, more than halfway towards a target of $100million by 2020, with Standard Chartered matching every donation until the milestone is successfully reached.

Starting today, two weeks of planned events involving Liverpool - including the team wearing a 'Seeing is Believing' logo on their shirts for the clash with Tottenham Hotspur on Tuesday February 10 - will attempt to generate further awareness and funds.

Take a closer look at why this cause is so crucial to many across the globe, and how the money raised to date has been invested to tackle avoidable blindness, by examining the detailed infographic below - click on the image to access a bigger version.
