Liverpool Football Club is helping to raise awareness of the Football v Homophobia (FvH) campaign this February during LGBT History Month 2015.

FvH is an international initiative opposing homophobia in football at all levels - from grassroots to professional clubs and has been supported by the club for the past three years.

Their work helps to encourage football to take a clear stand against homophobia so that everyone can enjoy the beautiful game, and that football leads the way in removing discrimination and prejudice based on gender identity and sexual orientation.

Liverpool works in partnership with many different leading equality organisations, including Kick it Out, Football v Homophobia, Just a Ball Game, Liverpool Pride, and Michael Causer Foundation to deliver its social inclusion programmes, which helps bring together communities regardless of their background. Through these various programmes, the club has taken a strong stance against all forms of discrimination.

During the 2014-15 season to date various achievements have been made by the club, including the erection of additional anti-discrimination and anti-social behaviour signage at Anfield, the delivery of enhanced equality and diversity training to all employees, including casual matchday staff and stewards, and Liverpool's first event to celebrate International Day against Homophobia Bi-phobia and Transphobia (IDAHOBIT) took place at Anfield.

Paul Amann, LFC's official supporters' committee LGBT representative, said: "I am delighted that the club will be supporting Football v Homophobia to raise awareness of homophobic discrimination as part of LGBT History Month 2015.

"It's great that the club is committed to continuing its work to help tackle discrimination, fight inequality and enable the wider Liverpool FC family to enjoy the game.

"There has been some fantastic work done to date, which I am really proud to have had the opportunity to be a part of."
