Watch as Sakho gives shirt to young Kopite
Mamadou Sakho brought delight to a young Reds fan when he made a beeline for the travelling supporters at Selhurst Park to hand over his match-worn shirt following the final whistle on Saturday.
Accompanied by Martin Skrtel, the Frenchman jogged across the floodlit turf to the away fans, having helped secure Liverpool's progress to the quarter-finals of the FA Cup with a 2-1 win over Crystal Palace.
Skrtel went off in one direction towards the contingent of Reds who had made a raucous din throughout the entire clash, while Sakho's movements were picked up by FATV's cameras.
The 25-year-old Parisian approached the front of the stand and picked out one particularly gleeful youngster, to whom he handed his No.17 shirt. Click play on the YouTube video below to watch the moment now.
Meanwhile, 11-year-old Liverpool fan Owen McVeigh was the recipient of Skrtel's jersey - and the youngster has not let the coveted top out of his sight since Saturday.
"It was just amazing when Skrtel came over with the shirt," Owen's dad, Mark, told the Liverpool Echo. "Owen is absolutely made up, he was ecstatic, he can't wait to show all his friends at school.
"I was debating whether to make the trip to Crystal Palace with it being far away, but I'm so glad we did, Owen will always remember Saturday. He's still got a massive smile on his face and I think he will for a while yet."
