Joe Allen paid a special visit to Anfield Sports and Community Centre on Friday to meet a group of local youngsters enjoying their LFC Foundation half-term multi-sports camp.

Liverpool's No.24 took part in a skills and drills warm-up and a penalty shoot-out with a group of participants and later hosted a Q&A session.

He was also on hand to present all of the participants with some LFC goodies as well as signing autographs and posing for pictures.

Allen said: "It was great to see the youngsters playing different sports and making the most of their half-term holiday. I really enjoyed taking part in some of their activities and sharing my passion for sport with them."

This February half-term week, the Foundation has been delivering various camps to provide local youngsters of all abilities with some active, creative and fun activities.

The Foundation's education centre, Reducate, based at Anfield hosted a series of arts and crafts sessions, and multi-sports camps ran at both Anfield Sports and Community Centre and Rainhill High School.

Andrea Cooper, head of Liverpool FC Foundation, added: "We are proud of the high quality camps we deliver throughout the year to youngster across the city. It's important for us to continue our engagement throughout school holidays as well as term-time.

"I'm glad that all the participants enjoyed Joe's appearance and I hope it gave them all some added inspiration to continue playing sports."
