Besiktas have tonight issued an apology to Liverpool supporters after they failed to provide coaches offering transportation to the Ataturk Stadium, which they had previously committed to doing so.

Even on Thursday morning, during the pre-match meeting between officials of the two clubs, Liverpool Football Club were informed arrangements had been put in place to transfer travelling fans in Istanbul to the Europa League tie.

However, the coaches did not appear as agreed, leaving some supporters without transport.

Reds officials immediately expressed their concern and disappointment to the Turkish club, highlighting the problems it would cause to fans attending the game.

Besiktas have responded by offering a full apology to those supporters affected by the disruption.
