Wearing the armband once again in the absence of Steven Gerrard, the midfielder produced a stunning goal in front of the Kop and later laid on the second for Daniel Sturridge.
His strike was of supreme quality, arriving onto a bobbling ball 20 yards out and swiping across it with immense power to send it whistling beyond Tom Heaton into the bottom corner.
Henderson utilised a different kind of craft to tee up Sturridge. This time it was a perfectly-pitched delivery on a diagonal to the back post for his teammate to head in and provide a cushion.
