Philippe Coutinho's scintillating recent form for Liverpool has helped consolidate his place in the Brazil national squad for their forthcoming friendlies against France and Chile.

The playmaker, who took his goal tally for the season to five with a sumptuous strike against Manchester City at Anfield on Sunday, was named in Dunga's selection on Thursday afternoon.

Brazil will face France in a repeat of the 1998 World Cup final in Paris on March 26, before journeying to London to face Chile at the Emirates Stadium three days later.

Coutinho, who missed out on a place in the Selecao when Brazil hosted the World Cup last summer, has five appearances for the national side to his name.

Four of those outings arrived in 2014, after the 22-year-old received a post-World Cup call-up in August - and each of his four appearances last year came as a substitute.

In a Singapore friendly against Japan in October, Coutinho carved a goal for teammate Neymar by playing a sumptuous outside-of-the-boot pass, having been on the field for all of three minutes.
