Martin Skrtel revealed he is feeling no ill-effects from the heavy fall that forced him from the field during Liverpool’s goalless draw with Blackburn Rovers on Sunday.

Just three minutes of the FA Cup quarter-final had elapsed at Anfield when the Slovakian collided with Rudy Gestede in the air.

Skrtel required several minutes of treatment before he was stretchered from the field, neck in brace, and replaced by Kolo Toure. However, a defiant thumbs up to Reds fans from the No.37 offered reassurance with regards to his condition.

Following the conclusion of the game, Brendan Rodgers explained the 30-year-old was 'fine' but would require a hospital visit as a precautionary measure.

On Sunday evening, Skrtel offered an update on his official Instagram account, in which he confirmed he is feeling well.

He wrote: "Everything is alright. I was unconscious for a bit but glad it is nothing serious.

"I wanted to carry on but fair play to the physios, they didn't let me - that's the rules!

"Off for a couple of days with the family. Thanks for all your support. YNWA."
