Liverpool travel to Swansea City this evening as the Barclays Premier League's form team but must be wary of Garry Monk's confident outfit, according to Jamie Carragher.

The Reds resume their chase for a Champions League position with a trip to the Liberty Stadium, where they'll hope to extend their unbeaten run in the division to 13 matches.

Each of the last four have been won, including impressive victories over Tottenham Hotspur, Southampton and Manchester City, but the Swans will offer firm resistance.

A scan of their results so far, for example, shows that Monk's well-drilled charges have already defeated Arsenal and Manchester United in Wales this season.

"Liverpool are on a great run and are the form team in the Premier League, but Garry Monk has done a really good job there at Swansea," Carragher told Liverpoolfc.com.

"They lost [Wilfried] Bony to Manchester City and we were expecting a little bit of a dip, and there was for a few results, but they seem to have pulled it back.

"Garry knows the club really well, but it's his first job in management and he's done a fantastic job."

Brendan Rodgers' opposite number has not enjoyed duelling with his former manager in their two previous meetings of this campaign, however.

Liverpool eliminated Swansea from the Capital One Cup at Anfield in October and at the same venue in the Premier League two months later, the Reds soared to a 4-1 win.

And as they prepare to enter the final 10 games with a much kinder fixture schedule, Carragher believes his old club can remain on course to climb the standings.

He said: "It's like going back to last season where they played one game a week. Hopefully that will benefit the club because the top four is so important."
