The Liverpool FC Supporters' Committee has successfully concluded its search for a new representative for fans in the Merseyside area.

During recent weeks, a selected panel shortlisted the applications for the position before fans were invited to vote for the person they believed would best represent their constituency via this website.

The committee is pleased to announce that the successful candidate is Graham Smith.

Counting of the votes was overseen by Kevin Milles, chief executive of the Football Supporters' Federation, and the new representative is now eager to begin working with the committee.

Karen Gill, honorary president of the Supporters' Committee, welcomed the new recruit and said: "On behalf of the Liverpool FC Supporters' Committee, I'd like to extend a very warm welcome to Graham.

"We are all really looking forward to working as a team in the future. I'm certain that he will be a positive addition to the committee and that the different qualities he brings, along with his enthusiasm and love for Liverpool FC, will be a great asset in helping to achieve our goals.

"I'd also like to thank James Benson, who stepped down from this post, for all his hard work and support over the last few years."
