Supporters attending the All-Star charity game on Sunday can expect to see progress at Anfield, as work to erect the expanded Main Stand is underway.

Construction has now begun on the first phase of the steel work that will form the structure of the new stand.

The club is asking supporters who don't need to visit the Main Stand car park, not to make a special visit to the redevelopment area.

This is to ensure that there is minimum disruption in and around the stadium, while the expansion work continues.

The new steel frame is being assembled behind the existing hoardings within the car park and will be built behind and over the current stand.

Construction work also means that a number of steel columns are now installed in front of the hoardings, opposite the main entrance.
