Ahead of tonight's FA Cup quarter-final replay at Ewood Park, we spoke to former Blackburn Rovers defender Bradley Orr, who just happens to be Jon Flanagan's uncle.

A boyhood Liverpool fan who started out his youth career with Everton, Orr played under Gary Bowyer at Ewood Park, before retiring in March 2014 after a loan spell in the Major League Soccer with Toronto FC.

The right-back spent three seasons at Rovers, making 34 appearances for the Lancashire club before hanging up his boots last year - and he's well placed to provide the view from inside the opposition camp.

Bradley, how much are you looking forward to tonight's game and how important is it?

I think it's a massive game for Liverpool's season. If they go and win the FA Cup, which they're capable of doing, it becomes a successful season - certainly from the fans' point of view. But it's a potential banana-skin and if they slip up, all the critics will be out in force. It's a very important game for Liverpool - and I think the players and the staff will realise that and put in a performance.

What difficulties will the Reds face?

It's a tricky surface at Blackburn. I know some of the Blackburn lads are pulling their hair out with the state of the pitch. It's very cut up and very bobbly, so it's going to be quite difficult for Liverpool as they do like to get the ball down and play. I've spoken to the Blackburn lads and they'll be really looking forward to the game. To get the replay was massive, and they're looking forward to testing themselves against some top Premier League talent.

Who should we watch out for from Blackburn?

They've got some good players like Rudy Gestede, Jordan Rhodes and Ben Marshall. It's going to be difficult for Liverpool. Rovers may not be playing open, expansive football tonight, but they have some really talented guys.

How do you think Gary Bowyer's side will approach the game tactically?

I think they'll pack the midfield and may go one up-top. I think they'll want to be really solid and tight because of the threat Liverpool pose. If they play expansive football they might shoot themselves in the foot. They'll be really solid, pack the midfield out and work off Gestede's prowess in the air and hit Liverpool on the counter or nick something off a set-piece.

How should the Reds approach the game?

I think every one of the players will be trying to impress after Saturday's game against Arsenal. Also, don't forget they're staking their claim for a semi-final at Wembley. It may be difficult with the conditions but it'll be a good game on the night.

Liverpool will be missing some key players - Martin Skrtel, Steven Gerrard and Emre Can due to suspension - how will that affect the game?

You'd like to think that a club like Liverpool, with the squad that they've got, will have guys who'll be more than capable of coming in. In an ideal world you'd have the lads available for selection but they're not, and that's just part and parcel of the game, you've got to cope with that. Whoever comes in, it's a chance to impress and step up to the plate and prove they're capable of holding down a place in the team for the semi-final.

Finally, do you have a prediction for the game?

2-1 Liverpool, I think it'll be a close game but Liverpool will come through.
