One such duel the Reds legend feels will be crucial is that between Philippe Coutinho and Jack Colback.
"Both are very clever players; Colback very rarely wastes the ball and Coutinho has the intelligent movement off the ball to come away from players," he said.
"At this moment, Coutinho is our best player for me, and whilst Colback is a good player we could put him on the back foot if we gain control of the game."
