Familiar faces of music, television and sport joined representatives from the Liverpool FC Foundation and charity participants in the inaugural 'Run for the 96 5K' on Sunday.

Staged in memory of the 96 fans who lost their lives at Hillsborough, the community legacy fun run raised funds for the Reds' official charity and Everton in the Community.

Money generated from the event, which started and finished in Stanley Park while taking in Anfield and Goodison Park, will be split equally between the organisations.

The likes of actor Les Dennis, MP Andy Burnham, Merseyside football legends Alan Kennedy and Graham Stuart, and Spice Girl Melanie Chisholm all donned their running shoes in support.
