Brazilian ace Philippe Coutinho started the ball rolling when his superb strike against Blackburn Rovers saw Brendan Rodgers' charges book a trip to Wembley in the FA Cup.

Newcastle United were then put to the sword in front of the Kop as fine efforts from Raheem Sterling and Joe Allen sealed a 2-0 victory.

Coutinho then netted again, at Wembley, in the semi-final defeat by Aston Villa.

The Academy was also well represented in front of goal during the month.

Samed Yesil fired a couple of great goals for the U21s during their win over Tottenham Hotspur at White Hart Lane, while Toni Gomes and Herbie Kane registered fine efforts for the U18s at West Ham United.

And the month ended in fine style for the U21s, who beat Everton in the mini-derby at Goodison Park with Ryan Kent blasting two from long range.
