Barring a miracle of goals and mathematics, Liverpool are now unlikely to finish in the top four Champions League places in the league this year. In what is likely to be a deeply emotional affair for all associated with the club, it would be typical of Gerrard to sign off with a goal - after all, he's scored in his last two appearances.
