Liverpool Ladies' Asisat Oshoala was on target to help Nigeria claim a 3-3 draw from a thrilling tie with Sweden at the Women's World Cup on Monday evening.

The European outfit, who finished third at the tournament four years ago, were two goals up after half an hour of the Group D contest in Winnipeg, Canada.

However, Ngozi Okobi reduced Nigeria's arrears just five minutes into the second period and, moments later, Oshoala struck to restore parity.

Back came Sweden to regain an advantage through Linda Sembrant, but Nigeria produced another response of their own to salvage a point.

Francisca Ordega was the scorer for Oshoala's side in the 87th minute to ensure the spoils were shared in a dramatic World Cup fixture.

Nigeria play their second game of the competition on Friday June 12, with Australia their opponents at the same venue.
