Which player would you take from Madrid for Liverpool apart from Cristiano Ronaldo, Gareth Bale and James Rodriguez?

That's a tough question. It's easy to say a big player who's just going to come in and you think he's going to light it up but I think it's got to be a player that would fit in and you'd get the best out of him. There's no point taking Modric and then playing him at right-back. In Liverpool's current situation, where I think they need strengthening, I think I'm going to go for Luka Modric. I think Luka Modric; now we've lost Steven Gerrard, we need someone who can get in midfield and boss it, see passes of all different ranges, keep the ball ticking over. I'm going to go Luka Modric.

Which Liverpool player are you most excited to play with?

Well I played with him about two weeks ago in a charity game: Carra. It brought back a lot of memories the way he screams, the way he talks to you on the pitch. It took me right back to when he made his debut when he was a cocky, cheeky little so-and-so back then as well. So I can't say Carra because I've already done it. I always loved playing with Macca and I like it when he comes and plays in these games. Although I have played with him as well, I'm going to go Steve McManaman.

What was the biggest highlight of your career?

I think realising the dream had come true signing for Liverpool probably was a major point in my career and my life. But then I think in football it's nice to be remembered for something positive or one significant moment. Something that is maybe a goal, or a highlight maybe winning a trophy, which unfortunately I wasn't too lucky with. [I reached] so many finals and I was kind of unlucky there. But I think the goal against Holland for the Republic of Ireland in the qualifiers for the 2002 World Cup, which obviously knocked Holland out of the qualifiers. They weren't going to go to Japan after that game and it set us up lovely to reach the play-offs and play against Iran. But the goal was significant - it was at Lansdowne [Road], and it was at a time in my career when I thought I just needed something and the goal came at the right time and it's something now that is never forgotten in Ireland. I always get patted on the back and a free pint every time I go over. So the goal against Holland for Ireland and signing for Liverpool at club level.

Fancy a cold beer after the game Jason, lad?

It won't be one, it'll be a couple!

How good would this Liverpool FC Legends team have been if they'd all been playing together at the same time?

It would win the Premier League, that's how good it would be.
