It will be with a feeling of pride that Harry Kewell pulls on a Liverpool shirt again at the Santiago Bernabeu this weekend.

The Australian will be part of the Liverpool FC Legends team which tackles Real Madrid in the Spanish capital on Sunday for their first official match.

Lining up in opposition for the 5pm BST kick-off - to be shown live on LFCTV and LFCTV GO - will be stellar names such as Roberto Carlos, Clarence Seedorf and Zinedine Zidane.

The charitable game marks an opportunity for Kewell to represent the side he left in 2008 following 139 games and 16 goals for the club.

"This is kind of my first time back playing for Liverpool, so I'm excited," he told Liverpoolfc.com. "I think it's something to be proud of and I'm looking forward to it.

"We just had the [2005 Istanbul] reunion. In my time at Liverpool, I got close to Vladimir Smicer, so seeing him and him coming on board as well, it's going to be fantastic to spend a couple more days with him.

"Luis Garcia is always a fun one to be around, and Robbie Fowler. I've got a lot in common with Robbie, I played with him at Leeds and Liverpool and obviously I know that he's had a spell over in my home country."

As well as the considerable selection of revered stars from Real's history, Kewell will have the chance to face off with former Anfield teammate Fernando Morientes.

He said: "Morientes was another player that I got on well with and it'll be fantastic to see him. Maybe just give him a kick, though!

"My path also came across Carlos quite a lot because we also played in Turkey against each other, because he actually played for the opposition as well.

"That's always fun and to play alongside great players like Zidane is fantastic."
