Roberto Firmino was described as an 'attractive prospect' and a player who can soften the blow of Steven Gerrard's departure by guests on Tuesday's edition of Press Box.

Liverpool have today confirmed the signing of the Brazil international on a long-term contract, subject to a medical that will be undertaken once his participation in the Copa America is over.

Prior to the deal being announced, James Pearce of the Liverpool Echo, LFCTV commentator John Bradley, and Carl Woodward from Radio City joined Steve Hothersall to discuss the latest Reds news, along with the potential signing of Firmino.

The panel hailed the 23-year-old's impressive record in Germany and backed him to provide goals from midfield in the absence of departing captain Gerrard.
