A group of Liverpool FC fans reunited with Dutch friends last week for the fourth Hillsborough Justice Campaign Annual Charity Weekend.

The yearly event, organised to raise funds for the Hillsborough Justice Campaign, the LFC Foundation and the 23 Foundation, is the result of a friendship forged back when the Reds met Utrecht in the Europa League back in 2010.

Since then, supporters have travelled to the Netherlands or England in alternating years to support a cause close to every Liverpool fan's heart.

And this year it was the turn of the Scouse contingent to host a fun-packed weekend that resulted in £6,600 being raised.

The event kicked off on Friday June 19 with 230 people packing out the Boot Room Cafe at Anfield.

After an enjoyable meal, Alan Kennedy and Howard Gayle regaled attendees with stories of their stints with the Reds before a charity raffle and auction, while photo opportunities with the European Cup were also provided.

Saturday saw a 'fiercely contested' football match between Liverpool fans and the Dutch contingent at Play Football in Thornton.

Club legend Ronnie Moran was in attendance as the visitors ran out 2-1 winners, with MP and Hillsborough campaigner Steve Rotheram even getting a 10-minute cameo.

After Lord Mayor of Liverpool Tony Concepcion presented the trophy, the group headed to the Derry Social Club in Anfield for live music and another raffle and auction to round off another successful weekend.

Plans are already in place for the fifth edition of this even in the Netherlands next year.
