Steven Gerrard made his MLS debut for new club LA Galaxy on Friday evening but showed after the game that his love of Liverpool remains as strong as ever.
The Huyton-born midfielder scored a goal and set up another as Galaxy earned a thrilling 5-2 win over the San Jose Earthquakes at the Stub Hub Center.
He was afforded a standing ovation by the California crowd when taken off in the 88th minute but, after the final whistle, showed that his heart remains at Anfield.
As television cameras panned in on the former skipper following the conclusion of the game, they spotted an unmistakeable crest emblazoned across his shinpads.
And as the man himself put it when posting the picture on his official Instagram page: "Once a red..."
