Redknapp excited by Bournemouth visit
Jamie Redknapp says he can't wait to see two of his former clubs do battle when newly-promoted Bournemouth visit Anfield on Monday night.
It was with the Cherries that Redknapp made his professional debut in 1989 under the guidance of his father Harry, then-manager of the south coast club.
Just two years later, Liverpool swooped to take the 18-year-old midfielder from the third tier of English football to the top flight, and he went on to spend 11-and-a-half seasons on Merseyside.
Next week, Redknapp will see two clubs he holds dear go head-to-head in the Barclays Premier League for the first time in history - a fact he believes is a great credit to the architects of Bournemouth's recent rise.
"It's dreamland, certainly for the fans," he told the 'Premier League Preview Show', which LFCTV GO subscribers can watch in full here.
"I think Eddie Howe's done an amazing job there, they play good football as well.
"It's going to be a great occasion for them on Monday night, it really is, for the whole club.
"It's some story and I'm really looking forward to watching the game."
The Sky Sports pundit stopped short of backing Howe's team to pull off a shock win at Anfield, however, with the hosts full of confidence after an opening-day win at Stoke City.
"It's going to be a tough game [for Bournemouth], obviously, because Liverpool have had a really good start to the season, winning at Stoke, and I think that gives them a lot of confidence," he added.
"But Bournemouth will play the same way week in, week out, they've got a manager who likes to play a certain style, they've got good players, they've got pace up front and they'll be looking to trouble Liverpool's defence."
