A narrow success against Bournemouth at Anfield followed, before Brendan Rodgers' team were impressive in holding Arsenal to a 0-0 draw at the Emirates Stadium.
August was wrapped up with a disappointing defeat to West Ham United at home, but there were still plenty of fine individual performances throughout the month.
