LFCTV GO subscribers can now watch the first in a two-part special feature with Liverpool full-back Nathaniel Clyne, who recently met with LFCTV’s Peter McDowall ahead of this weekend’s trip to Old Trafford.

In the first installment, the 24-year-old discusses his rise through the ranks at Crystal Palace and Southampton before arriving at Anfield, as well as the definition of his role in Brendan Rodgers’ team.

Explaining: “You can see how much the game has changed these days. Full-backs are asked to get forward more and support the attack.

“The stats after every game show that the full-backs tend to cover more distance so your fitness needs to be very high to cope with that.

“A lot of wingers want to come inside and play the No.10 role, which allows the full-back space to get forward and supply crosses and even get goals.

“But I think what makes a world-class full-back is weighing up both your attacking and defensive qualities and using them at the right time.”

On Tuesday we’ll be bringing you the second part to this exclusive feature in which Clyne previews Saturday’s match with Manchester United; lifts the lid on how his Southampton team were victorious there last season and explains why he already understands how much this game means to Reds fans.
