Liverpool have been drawn to face Stoke City in the semi-finals of the Capital One Cup after their 6-1 win over Southampton on Wednesday night.

The Reds will take on Mark Hughes' side in a two-legged tie in January – with a trip to Wembley and a shot at the trophy on offer to the victors in the last four.

Jürgen Klopp’s side secured progress to the penultimate stage of the competition courtesy of a Divock Origi hat-trick, a brace from Daniel Sturridge, and a goal from Jordon Ibe in an incredible performance at St Mary’s.

The first leg of the semi-final, at the Britannia Stadium, will be played in the week commencing January 4, with the return fixture at Anfield to take place in the week commencing January 25.
