Choose your December Player of the Month now
With Liverpool's hectic December fixture schedule now completed, it is time to choose your Standard Chartered Player of the Month in our online vote.
The Reds kicked off a run of seven games with a sensational 6-1 thrashing of Southampton away from home to reach the Capital One Cup semi-finals, with Divock Origi scoring a hat-trick and Daniel Sturridge two.
Jürgen Klopp’s side were then beaten at Newcastle United in the Barclays Premier League before rounding off the Europa League group stage with a goalless draw against FC Sion.
Origi scored a stoppage-time equaliser to rescue a 2-2 Anfield draw with West Bromwich Albion but a disappointing 3-0 defeat at Watford followed.
However, back-to-back victories were secured to end the year in winning fashion, Christian Benteke scoring the only goal in 1-0 results over Leicester City and then Sunderland.
But who was the side’s stand-out performer?
Every player who featured for the first team in December is eligible to take the Player of the Month prize, which will be presented to the man with the most votes at Melwood later this month.
