In our latest fan blog from 90min.com, die-hard Kopite Donovan Chandler looks ahead to the Norwich City clash and how the fixture's history is favourable to Liverpool.

We've been up against it this month. Injury troubles haven't helped us negotiate our way through a tough fixture list, but with matters such as a League Cup semi-final, second leg tie against Stoke City to come, it's important to get back on the right path as soon as possible.

Liverpool successfully progressed to the fourth round of the FA Cup through a third-round replay with Exeter City on Wednesday night, winning 3-0 at Anfield after initially taking a draw from the first tie at the start of the month. Joe Allen got the ball rolling by scoring after 10 minutes, and Sheyi Ojo and Joao Carlos Teixeira went on to add two more later on to ensure progress.

In a perfect world we'd have hoped the job would have been taken care of in the first 90 minutes, though the FA Cup remains as unpredictable as ever and it's the greatest domestic club competition in the world. Exeter did themselves proud but, as you'd expect, top-level quality told in the end.

West Ham United await us in the next round at Anfield at the end of January, but before then the primary objective is to see through our coming fixtures in successful fashion. Saturday morning's early kick-off sees Jürgen Klopp's men travel to Norwich City in the Barclays Premier League - and we're looking to protect a long-standing unbeaten record against the Canaries.

Currently, Alex Neil's side sit a mere two points off the Premier League's relegation zone and have lost their last two league games. They're not exactly able to turn to the record books this weekend in the hope of a change in fortunes, though, as Norwich haven't beaten the Reds since way back in April 1994.

That's a run of 11 games unbeaten for Liverpool against Saturday's opponents, and Norwich have only managed two draws in the that time - the most recent of which came in the reverse fixture earlier this season. That ended in a 1-1 draw at Anfield, after Russell Martin cancelled out Danny Ings' first Liverpool goal.

Ings will be disappointed to miss out with an injury, but his current teammates have another example to follow. Former Reds striker Luis Suarez made a habit of scoring against Norwich during his time with us, and he helped contribute to the fact that we've actually hit 22 goals against them in our last six meetings.

We've won at Carrow Road on each of our last five visits, too, so the omens are good for us this weekend - as far as getting back to winning ways in the league is concerned at least. Klopp perhaps won't pay too much attention to records, but rather the actual task at hand.

With former Everton man Steven Naismith one of a couple of players set to make their debut, this will be no easy task. But with a number of players of our own starting to find their feet - especially Roberto Firmino - and a great record ahead of the game, we're in good shape to get back to winning ways in the league.
