"The character, determination and willingness to fight until the very last kick are something that I have known this team possesses since day one. They are now starting to show that more and more in games and we are fighting until the very end.

"To be 3-1 behind away from home in the second half and to come back and win takes character and we showed that. The quality of the goals we scored as well were excellent; all of them very good goals…

"One other thing from the Norwich game I would like to highlight is the performance of our captain Jordan Henderson. The nature of how the game finished and the celebrations around the winning goal meant his contribution was not highlighted to the level it maybe should have been.

"This was a captain leading his team on the pitch and leading with an example of how to fight our way back from a bad situation. His goal, of course, was vitally important and possibly the moment the game changed back towards us.

"But his overall performance and the impact it had on inspiring those around him was massive and demonstrated why he is one of our stand-out leaders.”
