Emre Can admits he has never experienced anything like the 'crazy' conclusion to Liverpool's weekend trip to Norwich City, but says the focus is now on putting in a better performance when attentions turn to the Capital One Cup this evening.

Adam Lallana's 95th-minute winner at Carrow Road and the wild celebrations it sparked provided one of the most memorable moments of Jürgen Klopp's time in charge at Anfield thus far.

The Reds can't dwell too long on that last-gasp success, however, with Mark Hughes' team heading to Merseyside for the second leg of a Capital One Cup semi-final tie that is finely poised.

Can was full of praise for the character shown by his teammates in so quickly bouncing back from Sebastien Bassong's injury-time equaliser to claim all three points in a thrilling Barclays Premier League encounter in Norfolk.

But the German hopes to make sealing passage to Wembley at the Potters' expense a more straightforward task by playing better overall.

"We have a very, very good spirit but I think it’s normal [to celebrate in this way] when you concede a goal in the 92nd minute and then after two minutes score again," he told Liverpoolfc.com.

"It was a very emotional game and we were very happy after. It was a very important win.

"I never had a game like that, it was incredible, it was crazy, but we know that we can play better and we have to play better."

Liverpool hold a 1-0 lead going into the return fixture after Jordon Ibe's goal secured a narrow victory at the Britannia Stadium earlier this month.

But, when asked if the aggregate scoreline will affect the hosts' approach, Can replied: "No. We have to think it’s like every game and focus like every game, [even though] it’s a different game, it’s a cup game and not like the Premier League.

"We have to fight and we know that, of course, if we get a draw we [go through], but we have to play for a win and that’s what we’ll do."

The Reds alleviated fears about their potency in front of goal by netting three times against both Arsenal and Exeter and then putting five past Norwich in the space of just ten days.

Can hopes to see that 'killer instinct' evidenced more regularly, and is also keen to start chipping in with a few goals himself.

"We have to carry on like that and score goals," he continued.

"We know that we create a lot of chances but we have to show more killer instinct in front of goal and we will score more goals.

"I know I play in midfield and I don’t score so many goals and I have to improve there.

"I want to improve and I do everything to score more goals – I hope in the future I will!"
