After Liverpool kicked off 2016 with no fewer than nine games in four weeks, it is now time to choose your Standard Chartered Player of the Month for January in our online vote.

Jürgen Klopp’s charges were in action in three different competitions, most notably reaching the Capital One Cup final via penalties at the end of a two-legged tie with Stoke City that finished 1-1 on aggregate.

The Reds also navigated three FA Cup fixtures and the manager opted to put his faith in youth for the third-round tie against Exeter City, which was eventually won in a replay at Anfield.

Similar changes were made for the subsequent clash with West Ham United too and a goalless draw in the final outing of the month yesterday means a replay at Upton Park in the near future.

In the Barclays Premier League, meanwhile, defeat at the Hammers at the beginning of January preceded a thrilling 3-3 home draw with Arsenal and a narrow Anfield reversal against Manchester United.

The trip to Norwich City then served up nine goals and a pair of broken glasses for Klopp, due to the celebrations that followed Adam Lallana’s winner in the 95th minute of a 5-4 classic at Carrow Road.

But who was the team’s top performer? Have your say now with our poll below.

Every player who featured for the first team during the month is eligible and the accolade will be presented to the man with the most votes at Melwood in the coming weeks.
