Manchester City manager Manuel Pellegrini today previewed the Capital One Cup final meeting with Liverpool at a press conference - here's what the Chilean had to say about the clash at Wembley...

On Sunday's final...

To play a final at Wembley against a big team like Liverpool is very important for us to try to win the first trophy of the season. To win one title in February gives you a lot to try to fight in other competitions.

On whether his summer departure is motivation...

I always want to win all the trophies I participate [for] because it's my mentality and it must be at a big club also. You can never be happy because you just win one trophy. It's important to try to win all. I hope that we will be successful.

On the 4-1 defeat by Liverpool in November...

Liverpool made a very good game here. We made a lot of mistakes in the first 15 minutes so they decided the game early but all the games are different.

On team news...

[Bacary Sagna, Vincent Kompany and Raheem Sterling, who didn't train] are recovering from the last game that they played. For different reasons, the recovery of the players who played a complete game is not the same for all of them. They have different ways of recovery but I hope that the three of them will be fit on Sunday.

Wilfried Bony, [Eliaquim] Mangala and [Jesus] Navas are training now with the squad so the three of them are available for the game.

On what a final at Wembley means to him...

Wembley is, or one of, the most important stadiums of the world. I always said that to play a final in that stadium creates a different atmosphere for every manager, every team and every player. To play a final at Wembley is a special scene, that's why I respect every cup and that's why it is so important to try to arrive at the Capital One Cup and FA Cup final.
