A trophy in his debut season would be 'a dream' for Roberto Firmino and the Brazilian believes Liverpool can achieve that goal with another performance to remember against Manchester City.

The Reds meet their Barclays Premier League rivals in the Capital One Cup final at Wembley on Sunday afternoon, with the first silverware of the campaign on offer to the winners.

When the sides last met, back in November, it was a landmark day for Firmino as the No.11 opened his account for the club and helped to inspire a comprehensive 4-1 victory at the Etihad Stadium.

A similarly positive outcome in London would give the summer signing ‘massive happiness’ and he feels Jürgen Klopp’s team are ready to show why the cup should join them on the trip back to Merseyside.

Firmino told Liverpoolfc.com: “We will do our best to get the win and the trophy. This is a dream of mine that I really want to achieve. I hope that we will be the winners and I would be very happy with that.

“All due respect to Manchester City because they are an excellent team, but we are going to play in the final and we will give our best and we want to show that we deserve to win the trophy.”
