Keegan joins Reds for £35,000
Kevin Keegan signed for Liverpool from Scunthorpe United on this day back in 1971.
Referring to the small fee the Reds paid for 20-year-old, manager Bill Shankly described the acquisition of Keegan as 'robbery with violence'.
The No.7 went on to win the league three times, the FA Cup once, the UEFA Cup twice and the European Cup in 1977 before his departure to Hamburg in the same year.
