The Kop were celebrating again as the Reds took home another league title in 1965-66, overcoming Chelsea courtesy of Roger Hunt brace.

The striker gave the home side the lead just after the interval, sending the Anfield faithful into raptures.

Despite being pegged back on the hour mark, Shankly’s men persisted, with Hunt finding the net again just a few minutes later.

Chelsea manager Tommy Docherty saluted the home support after the game, describing them as ‘the best crowd in the world’.

Hunt, of course, would go on to star for England in the 1966 World Cup.
