No.9: Derby joy in five-goal thriller
The first Merseyside derby of the 1985-86 season was an absolute classic that will live long in the memory.
Kenny Dalglish fired the Reds into the lead with a sensational long-range strike after just 20 seconds, and when Ian Rush netted his customary goal against the Blues, Liverpool were well and truly in control.
When former Blue Steve McMahon, Dalglish's first ever signing, rifled in the third goal before the break this was turning into a good day.
However, Howard Kendall's team had spirit, and Graeme Sharp pulled a goal back and then hit the bar.
Dalglish was then guilty of two quite astonishing misses, before Gary Lineker scored to ensure a tense final six minutes.
