Liverpool produced an absolutely wonderful display to sink Crystal Palace 9-0 on an emotional night as the Kop bid a fond farewell to John Aldridge.
Barnes was to make it 7-0 with an absolutely brilliant free-kick at the Kop end.
Also on the mark were Steve Nicol (2), Steve McMahon, Ian Rush, Peter Beardsley, Gary Gillespie, Glenn Hysen and a fitting penalty from the soon-to-be-departed Aldridge.
