Adam Lallana was on target once again as England surrendered a two-goal lead to draw 2-2 with Spain at Wembley tonight.

Midfielder Lallana was one of three Liverpool players in the Three Lions starting line-up, along with captain Jordan Henderson and Nathaniel Clyne.

The Reds' No.20 opened the scoring from the penalty spot in the ninth minute, beating Pepe Reina from 12 yards after the former Liverpool goalkeeper had felled Jamie Vardy in the area.

Lallana, who has now found the net in each of his last three appearances for his country, was then substituted midway through the first half after picking up a knock in a challenge by Spain's Thiago Alcantara.

Vardy doubled England's advantage early in the second half with a diving header from an inch-perfect cross from Liverpool skipper Henderson who, like Clyne, played the full 90 minutes.

The hosts appeared to be on course for a comfortable win, but ex-Liverpool forward Iago Aspas marked his international debut by pulling a goal back for Spain with an excellent late finish, before Isco equalised for the visitors deep into stoppage time.

Daniel Sturridge was an unused substitute for England.
