Neil Atkinson (Anfield Wrap)
We now get the views of Neil Atkinson from the Anfield Wrap...
Who will win the league?
I think there are six sides who all have pretty much an equal opportunity of doing it. I think it is going to be defined by the run-in over the Christmas period, when all those sides have to play league games and two or three European games in a short period.
Where will Liverpool finish?
Anywhere from first to sixth, a throw of the dice.
What do you think of the new additions to our squad?
I think so far very exciting. Mohamed Salah looks like the absolute business, I'm really pleased he has come in. Dominic Solanke looks like a genuine exciting young talent, and if he had come in from overseas as a 20-year-old who had scored 20 goals in his native top-flight league, we'd have been looking at him this pre-season and saying we have got something on our hands here. Andy Robertson, I think he will be a slow burn throughout the season and it wouldn't be a surprise to me if we see more of him starting for Liverpool in 2018 rather than 2017. They all look decent signings, Salah is the one we are very excited about, but I'm of the view that we still need to bring a couple of players in.
Surprise package team?
It's quite strange to say this because two seasons ago they were champions but I think that Leicester City could surprise again. They look to me to be the side most likely to challenge Everton for seventh place. They can achieve what Everton should be trying to do, which is take advantage of anyone else's slip-ups and get a top-six berth. If I was Leicester or Everton I would be targeting 60 points this season, and I think Leicester can do that.
Player of the year?
Harry Kane.
Relegated?
Burnley, Huddersfield Town and Brighton.
LFC player to watch?
Sadio Mane.
One hope as a reporter this season?
To see Liverpool still be in the title race with three games to go.
